Matez

Matez Monir Garci, born and raised in Botkyrka, Stockholm, has a unique background with roots from Tunisia. He is the first person of Arab descent to graduate from the prestigious Calle Flygares Theatre School. With years of experience in film and TV, both in front of and behind the camera, Matez has managed to gain attention in the Swedish TV and film industry. He is most known for his roles in Heder Seasons 2 and 3, as Gabriel, Samir from Gåsmamman Season 5 and most recently the role of Adam in Hostage, which is streaming today on TV4 and C-more. 

Matez has also mastered his script and directorial debut with the short film Jag börjar bli delli (I Think I´m Going Mad), which will have its premiere in summer of 2023. With his unique qualities, both as an actor and filmmaker, he has managed to secure a place in the Swedish film industry. 

Matez has a great passion for acting and it has been noticed by critically acclaimed directors. One director had the following to say of Matez: "Working with Matez from my perspective as a director is incredibly rewarding. He has a high technical acting skill and humor. He comes with ideas and wants to be active during production. I know that having Matez on my film crew is a huge plus, as he contributes to the success of the entire group. 

Matez has a wide range of acting that can take him to both "dark and light moments". Matez's own thoughts on his acting are that his ability to never fear trying new things and to always dare to go all the way with his characters is his strongest attribute. His ambition is to be able to inspire other Arab people and young people from social economical areas to follow their dreams, and to always dare to be themselves.
